Brewing Tips

To make the perfect cup of hand-dripped coffee, follow these brewing tips:

1. Grind Size: Aim for a medium grind, slightly coarser than granulated sugar. An appropriate grind size balances the extraction process; too coarse and it flows too quickly, too fine and it clogs the filter leading to uneven extractions.

2. Water Temperature: Ideal water temperature ranges from 85 to 92°C. Avoid extreme temperatures which can diminish flavor extraction.

4. Step 1: Insert filter paper into the dripper and pour hot water over it to fit it snugly into the cup, then discard the water.
5. Step 2: Add coffee grounds and level them out to minimize gaps.
6. Step 3: Start with a 20-second wetting period, pouring water in a circular motion from the center outward.
7. Step 4: For the second pour, maintain a consistent vertical flow, avoiding the filter itself.
8. Step 5: For the final pour, circle back inwards after reaching the outer edge, adding approximately 150ml of water.
9. Step 6: Once filtration is complete, gently shake the beaker and enjoy your coffee.
